Bishop Ottenweller Returns Home for Hall of Fame

Bishop Ottenweller and Hall of Fame inductee Bob Arnzen pose with some St. John's High School students after Sunday's Hall of Fame Ceremony.

The Bishop, a spry 89 years old, concelebrated 11:30 Mass at St. John's church with Fr. Randy.  After Mass the Bishop was greeted by dozens of friends and acquaintances from his many years as pastor of St. John's.  The Bishop attended the Hall of Fame ceremony where he gave the blessing before brunch.

The Bishop, long time pastor of Delphos St. John's and later the Bishop of Steubenville, was questioned as to which team he was rooting for in this weekend's football state championship game between St. John's and Steubenville Catholic Central.  With a big grin he announced, "I'm in trouble!"  and skillfully avoided declaring his favorite team.

After the ceremony the Bishop mingled with his many friends and then posed for a photo with current St. John's students who arrived to clean up after the Hall of Fame ceremony.  To no one's surprise, the Big O was an instant hit with these young people.
