SUNDAY January 27, 2019 - PARISH -

Families of pre-school students will have reserved seating in the front benches of 11:30 a.m. mass. After mass the parents will remain in church for a brief meeting regarding Kindergarten then the parents will go to the Arnzen Gymnasium for a Pre-School Performance. Lunch will be provided.


Different groups will present before mass. Students from various grade levels will participate during the liturgy. All are encouraged to attend Mass.



MONDAY January 28th, 2019 - “Discover” what they LEARN -

Today we will be discovering evidence of “Catholic” at home and school. Small plastic Magnifying Glasses for Grades K-6 have been provided by PTO.  

Classes are invited to go on scavenger hunts in and around the school, list evidences found, or research where/when Catholic Schools began in our Country.


Logic or deductive activities might include “Five Houses” for the Junior High and High School. Grades K-6 can search for clues for arranging pattern blocks. What is built with the pattern blocks needs to adhere to ALL clues!

Games to be played: Doctor Tangle and Circle Ball.



TUESDAY January 29th, 2019 - “Discover” how they LEAD or see LEADERSHIP -

Students will be recognized for their contributions in groups in which they exhibit leadership skills. They will also be invited to suggest others for the Dragon Slayer awards, include someone in to games they are playing, guide someone away from what they should not be doing.

Teachers are invited to brainstorm activities for the students to do such as recording ideas as a collage or poster.


Luncheon for staff will be provided by the Parent Teacher Organization. High School students will cover INDOOR RECESS for the students with PTO Members covering Hallway Duty.



WEDNESDAY January 30th, 2019 - “Discover” how we SERVE

Elementary Teachers will provide a classroom discussion about how to be the best version of yourself. How service is what is being acknowledged by the Dragon Slayer Awards.

High School Teachers will provide discussion about ACUMAX (how we are wired as a person).

Discuss service cords received at graduation.


Your friends here at St. John's Schools would like to offer an open invitation to all parents in the area who would like to DISCOVER more about how our faith based curriculum, experienced and committed faculty and small class sizes can benefit your children. We are hosting a free dinner and Parent Informational Open House at the school, in the HS Media Center located next to the Library, on Wednesday night January 30th from 6 until 8 pm. Dinner will be served starting at 6:30pm. We are excited to welcome all families that have interest in learning more about our St. John's School System.

 

THURSDAY January 31st, 2019 - “Discover” how to SUCCEED -

8:00 a.m. - All School Mass


Some adult Blue Jays who succeed will be invited back to give a brief presentation in the Little Theater. They will form a panel and present to Elementary Grade Levels in the morning.


Grades 3 -- 4 @ 9:00a-9:30a

Grades 5 -- 6 @ 9:30a-10:00a

Short Break for Speakers

Grades K-- 2 @ 10:15a-10:45a

(Kindergarten Lunch following)

10:55a-11:35a, the speakers will be part of a panel for a high school assembly.


After the Jr High/High School assembly, lunch will be provided for the speakers in the convent.



FRIDAY February 1st, 2019 - “Discover” our Students/School

We are offering to any local students  a chance for your child to DISCOVER what St. John's School is all about by joining us in our, Be a Blue Jay for a Day. This will take place on Friday February 1, 2019 from 7:45 am until 3:00 pm at our school. Your child will be paired with students in their appropriate class level and they will get to experience a fun filled day as we finish our Catholic Schools Week celebration with games, activities, movies and an ALL School Assembly at 2:30pm in the Arnzen Gym. We welcome your child a chance to DISCOVER what Catholic School is all about.


Blue and Gold Jean Day


Treats will be provided by the Parent Teacher Organization. 

Elementary School-Popcorn

Junior High/High School-Cookies and Ice Cream at Lunch


The PTO will also provide prizes to both offices from a random drawing.
